System requirements for Crossbill Nest installation

Before a Crossbill's product installation, it is recommended to check if the target system's hardware and software meet the minimum level required for the product stable work. These requirements are listed on this page. The product is operating according to a client-server architecture providing a web interface supported by the majority of popular web browsers.

Client computers and terminals

Almost any device with a web browsing function is suitable as a client terminal for a Crossbill's product. Commonly, it is a personal computer with a web browser installed.

Web browser requirements

  • JavaScript version 1.4 or later
  • HTML 4.1 or later
  • Cookie mechanism support
  • File system support if it is planned to upload documents to a server

Client computer requirements

  • Information input devices (for example keyboard and mouse)
  • Connection to a server (via local network, Internet or VPN)
  • Information output devices (monitor or screen)

Operating systems and software

Crossbill Nest components include a web application, an asynchronous service (daemon), a database and a license manager. All these components require a system software to operate on. The components can be installed on a single server or separated to multiple servers in a server farm. For example, if a separate database server is preferred.

The product is able to work on Windows-based and Linux-based servers.

  • Intel Pentium IV/Xeon 2,4 GHz or higher processor equivalent
  • 512 Mb of 2048 Mb RAM or higher
  • 40 Gb storage or higher equivalent (HDD, SSD, etc.)
  • The connection to a database and a license server (for farm deployment)
  • Network or Internet connection to serve users

Asynchronous service component requirements

  • Intel Pentium IV/Xeon 2,4 GHz or higher processor equivalent
  • 256 Mb of 2048 Mb RAM or higher
  • 20 Gb storage or higher equivalent (HDD, SSD, etc.)
  • The connection to a database and a license server (for farm deployment)

License manager component requirements

  • Intel Pentium IV/Xeon 2,4 GHz or higher processor equivalent
  • 128 Mb of 1024 Mb RAM or higher
  • 20 Gb storage or higher equivalent (HDD, SSD, etc.)
